After much anticipation, the emergency centre in Grande-Synthe has finally opened for winter. The centre is a disused gymnasium that can sleep approximately 200 people in the large main room.
As with last year, the centre has quickly reached its maximum capacity, leaving over a hundred people still outside. Our teams have continued to be present, distributing tents, sleeping bags and other vital equipment to those enduring these harsh conditions.
This afternoon we were out in the newest addition to our MRS fleet. Following incredibly generous donations from The Worldwide Tribe and People Not Borders, we have been able to purchase a vehicle more suited for larger distributions.
We cannot thank these two organisations enough, both for this and their continued support.
