One week on from the full eviction, many people are already returning to Dunkirk. Today has again seen the arrival of new families and groups. The new "camp" is far from ideal and is situated in a hidden area of woodland behind an industrial plant. It has, however, offered a temporary break from the daily harassment of the police.
We would like to take this rare opportunity to thank all of you who have supported us through these toughest of times. It is truly reassuring and we couldn't do this without you.
The beautiful machine pictured was gifted to us and the people we support, by the incredible humans at Side by Side: Humanitarian Aid to Refugees. Over its first week it has already charged well over a thousand devices. This amazing organisation is one close to our hearts, and has worked with refugees in North France since the Calais 'Jungle' of 2015/16.
We would also like to express our gratitude to those at the English Disco Lovers (EDL) for the money they raised at their event last weekend.
We cannot stress enough the importance of these donations, whether small or large. They enable us to provide the support we do.
Thank you, from all of us at MRS and the displaced people of North France.
