With the brief winter heatwave now behind us, the weather has returned to its all too familiar damp and dreary state.
It is estimated there are around 500 displaced people currently living in the Dunkirk area. The emergency centre continues to be at maximum capacity, meaning the number of people camping outside its doors has continued to grow.
Over 200 people currently reside in tents outside the centre, with nearly 100 more in smaller camps scattered throughout the surrounding woodland. Although those living inside are protected from the elements, they still rely on independent organisations for almost all basic essentials.
Our teams work around the clock to provide the necessary support and services to all of those in need. Whether performing complex phone repairs or simply bringing a fresh pair of socks, our volunteers strive to provide a solution to all problems faced.
