Major Eviction

In the early hours of this morning, the all too familiar sight of French police forces accompanied by waste clearing firms descended upon the camp. After nearly five months at this current location, the authorities made a decision today to relocate the communities of displaced people living here.

Around 600 people have been living at this site on an abandoned railway line. These people have now been relocated to a new temporary site nearby. With this erratic weather and temperatures still dropping to freezing at night, conditions are incredibly difficult for those forced to sleep rough.

Our team on the ground have been on-site since early supporting those affected by this operation and equipping people who have been left with nothing.

As the main provider of tents and sleeping bags for displaced people in the Dunkirk area, these operations put enormous strain on our stock.
