Since our post in November discussing the prevalence and dangers of Trench Foot over the winter periods, our amazing donors began raising funds and delivering boxes of new footwear. Following this, our tireless volunteers have been on-site every day with the aim to provide appropriate footwear to the entirety of the communities of displaced people we support.
Thanks to the incredible work of our partners Donate4Refugees, People Not Borders and Side by Side : Humanitarian Aid to Refugees, we were able to obtain and distribute over 200 pairs of brand new, high quality boots to those in the Dunkirk area since the beginning of the year. These new shoes allow for improved hygiene, and help to stave off fungal infections that are rife within saturated areas such as these. Brand new footwear also grants a simple but much-needed comfort that many are forced to go without for weeks on end.
With our stock of boots now once again running low, we would like to appeal for more in order to continue these endeavours throughout the end of this winter period while the weather is still so harsh. If you wish to donate towards this cause, please follow the link below:
Alternatively, if you would like to get involved and make a direct difference here on-the-ground, please be sure to get in touch via Facebook or our website. We are always in need of more volunteers!
